‘Poetry is what gets lost in translation,’ said Robert Frost, highlighting the complexities of cross-cultural expression. How do we communicate through our bodies, our presence, and our lived experiences? How do we create moments of understanding that transcend language?

Para-Phrase, curated by performance artist Mengting Zhuo, brings together three artists of migrant and diasporic origins: Ryoko Akama, with her kinetic sound sculptures; Veronica Cordova de la Rosa, through her spontaneous, site-specific performances; and Abbas Zahedi, exploring philosophy and poetics through performance.
