River Thames

—On Compassion

Photos by Stu Allsopp

In 2018, I applied for an artist visa in order to stay in the United Kingdom longer. I was uncertain about the outcome of my application. I felt sad and resisted the future. Thus, I made clothes with pockets that could not hold anything. It was not possible for me to take either the water or the soil from the River Thames. My heart sank in this place.

Image: I am wearing clothes I designed myself, featuring pockets that cannot retain water. Behind me, a woman from the audience is visible.
